Menopause Nutrition & Personal Training

Feel stronger, healthier and more like yourself

Perimenopause and menopause can bring changes that you weren't expecting. Perhaps you've noticed weight gain, particularly around your middle, changes in your energy levels or body composition, or simply that the diet and exercise routines that worked for you in the past don't seem to have the same effect anymore.

I understand that frustration because I've experienced it myself.

During perimenopause, I gained a stone and a half despite my diet and exercise routine remaining largely unchanged. It prompted me to look more closely at what was happening within my body and, in particular, the importance of metabolic health during this stage of life.

I began to change the way I ate, introduced strength training and focused on building muscle and supporting my metabolic health. That experience has shaped the way I now work with women going through perimenopause and menopause.

Nutrition and strength, working together

I've combined my experience as a nutritional therapist with my personal training qualification to offer an approach that considers both how you eat and how you move.

Rather than focusing simply on eating less or exercising more, we'll look at the bigger picture and make realistic changes that support your health through menopause and beyond.

Nutrition

We'll look at your current diet and introduce practical changes, with an emphasis on nutrient-dense whole foods, protein and fibre.

The aim isn't restrictive dieting, but finding a way of eating that supports your metabolic health and fits into your everyday life.

Strength & movement

Strength training is an important part of my approach.

Building and maintaining muscle can support metabolic health as we move through menopause, while helping us stay strong and active as we get older.

Most clients train with me once a week in my fully equipped home gym. I'll also create personalised workouts for you to complete at home between our sessions, and encourage simple everyday movement such as walking.

Lifestyle

Good health isn't just about food and exercise.

We'll also consider areas such as sleep, stress and recovery and look at small, achievable changes that can support your overall wellbeing.

Where appropriate, I may also recommend nutritional supplements alongside these foundations.

Working with me

My approach is personal, supportive and realistic.

We'll work together to understand what's going on for you and create an approach that combines nutrition, strength training and lifestyle support.

Because nutrition and movement work hand in hand, I ask clients who train with me to be open to making dietary changes as part of the process.

I'm currently developing my menopause nutrition and personal training packages. In the meantime, if you'd like to find out more about working with me, please get in touch for an informal chat.
